India Clinches a NAILBITER

India and Sri Lanka met in the 1st ODI in Rajkot on the 15th of Dec. The pitch was a belter and batters were in no mood to spare any bowler. India having winning the toss and electing to bat. VEERU was as impressive as always. I always felt that he needs to stay on the wicket for 50 overs and India will surely cross 500 runs. He played an important role in the match and gave India the start they required in the 1st match of the series. He made a magical 146 with the Legends quick fire 50+ runs. M S DHONI also chipped and played well. Together the team posted a mamoth total of 400+ runs.

As in all the high scoring games, it seems that the team chasing such a big scores does not have anything to loose and thats what happened with Lankans reply. They batted bravely with Sangakara and Dilshan counter attacking the Indian bowlers. The Lankan chased the total of 414 runs till the last over and lost only by 3 runs in the end with Ashish Nehra playing the role of escape goat to throw the last over managed well to end up in style.
